Teri Seal, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist who completed her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in December 1995 and became a member of the faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center in November 2002. Prior to joining the staff at KUMC, Dr. Seal worked at Rainbow Mental Health Facility as a staff psychologist and the Director of Psychology. Dr. Seal has been a national speaker for the American Dental Association since 1998; topics on which she speaks include personal growth, office interpersonal skills, and motivation. Since she arrived at KUMC, she has been active in delivering lectures to the psychiatry residents and medical students on a variety of topics including relationship skills, dream interpretation, and defense mechanisms. In addition to lecturing and seeing patients, Dr. Seal directs group therapy sessions on KUMC’s child psychiatry inpatient unit and conducts psychological testing with children and adolescents.
