Welcome to the web page for undergraduate medical education programs in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Medical student education is core to the mission of the department. Our faculty are involved in medical education throughout the four year curriculum of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Our department sponsors courses for second, third and fourth year students. For second year students we sponsor coursework in Behavioral Sciences. The Psychiatry Clerkship for third year medical students is a core component of medical education and provides an introduction to clinical care in the neurosciences. For our fourth year student programs, our department sponsors a sub-internship in psychiatry and various elective courses in subspecialty psychiatry and psychiatric research.
From this web page you can use the menu at the left to link to descriptions of the various courses we sponsor, to a list of our faculty, to the University of Kansas Hospital web site and to descriptions of our affiliated programs.
