Monica Kurylo, Ph.D., Associate Professor, joined the faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2005. Dr. Kurylo received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology (health/rehabilitation emphases) at the University of Kansas, and has internship and postdoctoral experience in rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology. She is board certified in rehabilitation psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Dr. Kurylo is a member and current Vice Chair of the Committee for the Advancement of Professional Practice (CAPP) of the American Psychological Association. She also serves as Treasurer of APA Division 22, Rehabilitation Psychology, and as the academic/research representative member of the Board of Governors for the Kansas Psychological Association. She is a member of Divisions 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology), 40 (Neuropsychology), 38 (Health), 35 (Society for Women), 31 (State, Provincial and Territorial Psychological Association Affairs), and 12 (Clinical Psychology) of APA, Section 1 in Division 22 (Pediatric Rehabilitation Psychology), Section 8 in Division 12 (Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers (APAHC)), the Kansas Psychological Association, the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, and Women in Medicine and Science. As the Director of Neurorehabilitation Psychology Services at KUMC, she provides inpatient and outpatient evaluation and treatment services, consults as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment teams in rehabilitation, burn, and trauma, and provides supervision for pre-doctoral practicum graduate students, pre-doctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows in psychology. Her research interests include stress among professional and family caregivers.
