Edward E. Hunter, Ph.D., Clinical Associate Professor, has been practicing clinical psychology in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at KUMC since 1996. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University in 1984. He completed an internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and the Houston Child Guidance Center. In the past, he has been a clinical psychologist in outpatient private practice settings. His clinical interests include the treatment of problems of mood, anxiety, and stress with counseling and psychotherapy techniques. He is active in teaching and supervising others in the Department of Psychiatry, and has functioned as a clinical supervisor and on clinical faculties for the past 10 years. He has published several papers in major peer-reviewed journals related to his interests in proper diagnosis and the relationship between attitudes toward patients and outcome.
