Larry A. Carver, M.D., Clinical Professor, is the newest member of the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Carver specializes in psychiatry with special interests in neuropsychiatry, a psychiatric condition resulting from neurological disease and injury. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1974 and completed his residency in psychiatry at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry, formerly in Topeka, KS. He was trained at the Topeka Institute of Psychoanalysis and did postdoctoral work in neurochemistry at the University of Kansas, Department of Chemistry.

Dr. Carver is the Director of the University of Kansas Medical Center Brain Tissue Bank and Research Laboratory. The mission of the Brain Bank is to provide human brain tissues to qualified scientists and clinicians dedicated to neuroscience research. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
