Susan Weimer, M.D.


After earning her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Dr. Weimer completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  Following several years of practice as a general obstetrician/gynecologist, she returned to training to complete a second residency in psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in Psychiatric Consultation and Liaison at INOVA Fairfax Hospital/Georgetown University School of Medicine

Dr. Weimer has extensive training as a board-certified adult psychiatrist with an excellent resume and a unique background in women’s health and mood issues relating to pregnancy, the postpartum and perimenopausal transitions.  She has served as a peer reviewer for a psychiatric publication and has given lectures on “Insomnia in the Menopause,” “Psychopharmacologic Management during Pregnancy and the Postpartum,” and “Psychotropic Management during the Perimenopausal Transition.”

Dedicated to all areas of adult psychiatric illness, Dr.Weimer maintains a strong commitment to providing her patients with a balance of care which blends compassion and understanding with the most up-to-date, evidence-based medicine available.
