Basic Features of myKUMC
For more information on what a portal is and why we have one, see the About section. To take a tour of available services and look through some screenshots, see the myKUMC Tour.

Logging into myKUMC
To log into the portal, enter your Novell network userid and password. This is the same as what you use to log into the network. For students, this is the same as your Groupwise email account. For example, if your email address is jdoe@kumc.edu, your userid is jdoe.

The portal also requires that you have your computer set to accept cookies.

Note: New employees and affliates can take up to two weeks to get their network account established, depending on your department.

Resetting your password
You can reset your password after logging into myKUMC by going to the ChangeYour Network Password function, located in the Computing section under the Services tab.

If you are unable to login to myKUMC and need to reset your password, Customer Support or Instructional Technology Center staff can handle requests made in one of the following ways:

  • Requests may be made in person at Customer Support [3021 Eleanor Taylor] 7:00 am -11:00 pm, Monday-Friday or the Instructional Technology Center during staffed hours. Photo identification is required.
  • Requests may be faxed to Customer Support at 913-588-2579, 7am-11 pm, Monday-Friday. The fax must include new password, photo identification and signature. Nights, weekends, and holidays, requests may be faxed to Computer Operations at 913-588-4924.
  • Users unable to request password in person or by fax may designate a proxy to authenticate the request. User must notify Customer Support or ITC staff with name of proxy and new password; proxy must make password request in person at Customer Support or ITC. Proxy’s photo identification is required.

If you're on the Wichita campus, call 316-293-2605, option 1, or email techsupp@kumc.edu.

Viewing Grades
After logging in, students will see a Student Info tab across the top. In the Student Info area, select the View Grades link. The current semester's grades will be displayed. If you're seeing a different semester's grades or not seeing any grades, contact us and be sure to include your student ID. At this time we are not able to display past semester grades, but that feature is being discussed.

Viewing your paystub
If you're paid by the state of Kansas as an employee, under the Employee Info tab you will see the Paystub Manager channel. From here you can view your most current paystub (will open in a new window). In the new window, you have options to view past paystubs and print paystubs.

Note: New employees typically will not have a pay advice for approximately four weeks.

If you see a problem with your pay information, contact the Payroll office 913-588-5100.

Macintosh Users
There is a known problem with Internet Explorer for Macintosh and Secureweb. The error that you may see is "Security failure. Data decryption error." when you attempt to access the Secureweb server. You may see this when attempting to download the VPN Wireless client, or other secureweb sites. The error is due to incompatibilities with the versions of Apache (the web server software), SSL and Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

Until a patch or newer version is installed, try using Netscape or any non Internet Explorer browser.

Internet Explorer 6.x Warning Messages
There is a known problem with Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows with popping up multiple warning messages that say, "Security Alert: You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure. The information you are sending to the current site might be retransmitted to a nonsecure site. Do you wish to continue?"

Rest assured that myKUMC is not retransmitting your personal data to a nonsecure site. You can disable these warning messages by checking the box that says, "Do not show this warnings in the future."

Contacting Someone
If you're receiving an error message or are unable to access myKUMC at all, contact Customer Support at 913-588-7995. For questions about content, including announcement information, contact Jameson Watkins at 913-588-7387 or fill out our suggestion form.
