Resident rotations for each of the six years of training program are:

Year 1

  • Plastic Surgery 1 month
  • KU II (Breast Surgery) 1 month
  • KU IV (Vascular Surgery) 1 month
  • KU V (Trauma/ICU) 1 month
  • Vascular 1 month
  • Emergency Room 1 month
  • Neurosurgery 1 month
  • Dermatology 1 month
  • Ophthalmology 1 month
  • Anesthesia 1 month
  • Leavenworth VA 1 month

Year 2

  • KU II (Breast Surgery) 2 months
  • KU III (Transplant) 2 months
  • KU V (Trauma/ICU) 2 months
  • KU VI (Burn) 2 months
  • Leavenworth VA 2 months
  • Orthopedic Surgery 2 months

Year 3

  • Pediatric Surgery 2 months
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery 2 months
  • KU I (Surgical Oncology) 2 months
  • Otolaryngology 2 months
  • Leavenworth VA 2 months
  • Night Float 2 months

Year 4

  • Plastic Surgery- KUMC 6 months
  • Plastic Surgery- KCVA 3 months
  • Plastic Surgery- CMH 3  months

Year 5

  • Plastic Surgery - KUMC 3 months
  • Plastic Surgery- CMH 3 months
  • Hand Surgery (community rotation)  3 months
  • Plastic Surgery- St. Luke’s 3 months

Year 6

  • Plastic Surgery - KUMC 3 months
  • KCVA Rotation 3 months
  • Community Cosmetic Rotation 3 months
  • St. Luke’s Rotation 3 months
