Resident rotations for each of the six years of training program are:

Year 1

  • Plastic Surgery 1 month
  • KU I (Surgical Oncology) 1 month
  • KU II (Transplant) 1 month
  • KU III (General Surgery) 1 month
  • KU IV (Trauma/ICU) 1 month
  • Vascular 1 month
  • Emergency Room 1 month
  • Otolaryngology 1 month
  • Orthopedics 1 month
  • Anesthesia 1 month
  • Leavenworth VA 1 month
  • Night Float 1 month

Year 2

  • KU I (Surgical Oncology) 2 months
  • KU II (Transplant) 2 months
  • KU IV (Trauma/ICU) 2 months
  • KU VI 2 months
  • Leavenworth VA 2 months
  • Plastic Surgery 1 month
  • Neurosurgery 1 month

Year 3

  • Pediatric Surgery 2 months
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery 2 months
  • KU III (General Surgery) 2 months
  • Leavenworth VA 2 months
  • Night Float 2 months
  • Plastic Surgery 2 months

Year 4

  • Plastic Surgery- KUMC 8 months
  • Plastic Surgery- KCVA 2 months
  • Plastic Surgery- St. Luke’s 2 months

Year 5

  • Plastic Surgery - KUMC 6 months
  • Plastic Surgery- KCVA 2 months
  • Hand Surgery with Dr. Ketchum 2 months
  • Plastic Surgery- St. Luke’s 2 months

Year 6

  • Plastic Surgery - KUMC 4 months
  • VA Rotation 2 months
  • Gutek Group Rotation 2 months
  • St. Luke’s Rotation 2 months
  • Bortnick Group Rotation 2 months
