Research Interests

I joined the Smith lab in the summer of 2006. I am interested in the role of hormones in female prevalent pain disorders (i.e. fibromyalgia, migraines, etc…). I am currently examining how the neural expression of estrogen receptor splice variants is altered in response to hormones and how vitamin D regulates estrogen signaling in the nervous system.
