We perform translational research that is directed at identifying pathogenic mechanisms and novel interventions for multiple sclerosis, which is a neurological disease that can cause sensory, motor and/or cognitive declines. Our studies incorporate a team approach that includes clinical samples, flow cytometry, immunology, and animal models. Additional studies address intervention strategies for globoid cell leukodystrophy and identifying mechanisms of toxin-induced vessel injury.
