I am from Liaoning province in China. I received my bachelor degree in life sciences after three year undergraduate study in honors program in China Agricultural University. I came to KUMC in fall, 2008. After one year IGPBS course study and research rotation, I joined the laboratory of Dr. Curtis Klaassen to pursue my Ph.D. degree.
Research Interests
The objective of my current research project is to study the expression patterns and gender differences of drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters in liver and ileum during aging process in mice. Studies mainly include enzymes and transporters that play direct roles in processing xenobiotics or bile acids, which indirectly affect the enterohepatic circulation of drugs and various other chemicals. In addition, I am also interested in exploring the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms to further explain the expression patterns during aging, as well as the roles of sex hormones in determining the gender differences.
