Parkinson’s Disease Center of Excellence

The Parkinson’s Disease Clinic, staffed by  Rajesh Pahwa, M.D. offers diagnostic and treatment services for persons with Parkinson’s disease and related conditions including progressive supranuclear palsy and Multiple System Atrophy.

Specialty services are available through neuropsychological testing, rehabilitative services, physical therapy, hearing and speech, nutrition, and social services.

Educational information concerning Parkinson’s disease is also provided.

In addition to the usual medical treatments, surgical interventions for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders are possible and include deep brain stimulation of the thalamus, globus pallidus and the subthalamic nucleus.

Participation in research through the Parkinson’s Disease Center of Excellence is offered. Patients may also participate in clinical research pertaining to investigational medications. The center is recognized as one of the centers of excellence by the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
