Question: How does Landscape Services decide what flowers
to plant at each location?
Answer: Plantings are determined by adaptability, care
requirements, and visual impact. Decisions are made in December
and orders placed in January to ensure plant availability.
Question: Does Landscape Services use any "organic" chemicals?
Answer: Milorganite, an organic soil ammendment, is
used on several lawns and all annual plantings. Several "environmentally
friendly" insecticides are also used.
Question: What does Landscape Services do to help protect
the environment?
Answer: All mowers have been converted to mulching mowers
and are used in this capacity, when applicable, to curtail
landfill waste. No mowing is done on "Red Aert" days.
Additionally, turf weed and pest control is on an as-needed
basis versus blanket preventative applications.
Question: Are the chemicals used by Landscape Services
for snow and ice removal environmentally friendly?
Answer: We use the following products in various amounts
and combinations to maximize effectiveness in snow and ice
removal while minimizing the impact on the local environment.
We also stay current on the latest research for new products
that will be more environmentally friendly and still maintain
our required level of efficiency.
Question: Are the chemicals used by Landscape Services
for snow and ice removal damaging to vehicle paint?
Answer: Not in the short term, but winter "roadwash" should
always be periodically removed from your vehicle.
