Biography

I was born in Sydney, Australia, but have lived most of my life in Melbourne, where I went to high school and medical school. I studied for my PhD in mouse genetics at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, which is affiliated with the University of Melbourne. I did my residency at the Royal and Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, which is a large state-run teaching hospital which administers ophthalmology training for the state of Victoria. From there I moved on to the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University where I spent some time performing mouse retinal research before completing a retina fellowship.
