Introduction to Section 1

If you are new to learning online or distance education (what we will call eLearning in this orientation), it is important to know what eLearning is all about and if it is right for you. After you have completed this section, you will know:

• the difference between a hybrid and fully online course
• what to expect from a typical online course
• the types of technologies you may encounter
• some misperceptions of eLearning courses
