Thomas E. Snyder, MD, FACOG
Dr. Snyder graduated from medical school and residency at the University
of Kansas School of Medicine. Following residency he completed a 12
month fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology and Surgery at the same institution. He
served in the United States Air force as a staff gynecologist and director
of Gynecologic Oncology at Keesler Air Force Base and as Chairman of the
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maxwell Air Force base. He
was in private practice and was Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
at Wake Forest University prior to returning to the University of Kansas
to teach general gynecology and obstetrics and gynecologic surgery. He has
received many awards for his service to patients and teaching ability.
Dr. Snyder has particular interest and is expert in menopausal medicine,
evaluation and treatment of pre-invasive cancer of the cervix, urinary incontinence
and correction of pelvic organ prolapse. In addition, he has expertise in
evaluation and treatment of all other non cancer disorders affecting the
female genitalia.
Dr. Snyder utilizes a systematic approach to evaluation and treatment of
gynecologic disorders emphasizing the importance of patient education
and knowledge of their gynecologic problem. It is important that the
patient be aware of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment alternatives
which may be used. His broad surgical and teaching experience provides
him a unique opportunity to educate and treat patients in an optimum
fashion.
