Annie M. Reising, MD
I am very excited to return to my Jayhawk roots by joining the KU Women’s
Health Specialty Centers at the University of Kansas Medical Center. I
was born in Kansas City, Kansas and attended KU both for my undergraduate
studies as well as for medical school.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from KU in 1998 with a B.S. in Cellular Biology. After
working in the medical field as a nurses’ assistant at St. Luke’s
South Hospital, I returned to my studies and attended medical school from
2000-2004. I received my M.D. from KU in 2004, and subsequently moved
to Los Angeles where I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Immediately upon finishing
my residency training in June of 2008, I returned to Kansas City and to
KUMC.
Throughout medical school and residency, I was an active member of various
professional societies and the recipient of multiple honors and awards,
including an award of excellence in 2007 for the research I completed during
my residency at UCLA.
I am passionate about my work and take pride in providing excellent patient
care. My practice is broad, including obstetrical care and general
gynecology. I have a special interest in family planning and contraception,
as well as laparoscopic surgery and surgical correction of pelvic organ
prolapse. I believe that excellent patient care begins with patient
education, which lays the foundation for strong patient-physician relationships
and sets the stage for the making of informed decisions about health and
well-being.
