Makeba L. Williams, MD
Dr. Makeba Williams is an obstetrician and gynecologist committed to providing
excellent, comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. She is dedicated
to building solid patient-physician partnerships, patient education and
empowerment, as she feels these ultimately lead to better health outcomes.
Her dedication to teaching and education led her to join the faculty at
the KU Women’s Health Specialty Centers at the University of Kansas
Medical Center. Prior to joining KUMC, Dr. Williams completed
her Obstetrics/Gynecology internship and residency at the Medical College
of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond,
VA. While practicing in Virginia, she received several teaching honors,
including the 2007 Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence
in Teaching Award.
Dr. Williams is a native of Hartselle, Alabama and a graduate of Meharry
Medical College and Vanderbilt University, both in Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to obstetrics, her other professional interests include the
management of abnormal menstrual bleeding, minimally invasive and laparoscopic
surgery.
