The Center for High Risk Pregnancy offers prenatal monitoring and consultation for expectant mothers with complicated pregnancies. The High Risk team consists of dedicated physicians, nurses, nutritionists and social workers who all provide individualized care in convenient settings. Whereever possible, women are co-managed with their obstetrical care providers so that travel is minimized.

Medical Disorders:

  • diabetes mellitus
  • chronic hypertension
  • connective tissue disorders (such as lupus)
  • renal failure
  • liver failure
  • congenital heart disease
  • deep vein thrombosis and/or pulmonary embolies
  • thrombophilias or bleeding disorders
  • recurrent preterm birth
  • incompetent cervix
  • cancer

Surgical Disorders:

  • gall bladder disease
  • cancer
  • benign tumors
  • maternal trauma such as automobile accidents
