What is Nurse Academy?
Nurse Academy is a two day program designed to introduce high school students
to the profession of nursing through hands-on experiences and presentations.
Where is Nurse Academy and how long does it last?
Nurse Academy is held at The University of Kansas Medical Center
in the Hospital and in the School of Nursing. Nurse Academy is typically
held on a Monday and Wednesday from 7:30AM to 4PM.
How many students can attend Nurse Academy?
Each year, the Nurse Academy accepts 24 students from area high
schools.
What is the application/registration process?
The application process has changed and is very similar to the
process of applying to a school of nursing. An essay and letters
of reference are required. Registration forms are included in the
application packet.
