Megan Johnson, graduate student, receives award from the Kansas Bioscience Authority

On March 13, 2008 the 5th Annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit was held in the capitol building in Topeka. Four of our outstanding graduate students were selected to display poster presentations in the Capitol building along with graduate students from Lawrence, Kansas State and Wichita State. The KUMC students participating were: Megan Johnson from the School of Medicine, Elizabeth Taglauer from the School of Medicine, Catherine Siengsukon from the School of Allied Health and Tona Leiker from the School of Nursing. Each of the students received Certificates of Recognition and in addition Megan Johnson was recognized with a $500 scholarship award from the Kansas Bioscience Authority. Megan works in the laboratory of Dr. Doug Wright and the title of her presentation was "The Role of Epidermal Fibers in the Sensory Symptoms Associated wit Diabetic Neuropathy".
