Adrienne Baxter, MS, RD, LD, clinical instructor in the KU Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, has been awarded the Stata Norton Distinguished Teaching Award. The award recognizes a faculty member in the School of Allied Health who demonstrates excellence in teaching and who has made an outstanding contribution to their profession. Current students and faculty in the School of Allied Health are able to submit nominations.
The Norton Award is named after Dr. Stata Norton, former Dean of the School of Allied Health. Norton served as Dean from 1980 to 1984.
While a formal award presentation will be made at the School of Allied Health Student Recognition Ceremony on Saturday May, 16, Baxter was treated to a surprise presentation this past week. Faculty, staff and students made an unannounced visit to one of Baxter’s classes to make the presentation.
“Adrienne works very hard to make sure that she gives our students a diverse, practical experience,” said Debra Sullivan, PhD, RD, LD, Chair of the Dietetics and Nutrition Department. “She’s always willing to go the extra mile.”
