Campus Groups Join to Race for the Cure

Four campus entities are joining to participate in the Race for the Cure Aug. 9 – KUMC, the hospital, KU Endowment and The University of Kansas Cancer Center.

They'll participate as The University of Kansas Cancer Center team and will sponsor the Survivor Pavilion at this year's race. The team hopes to recruit 400 walkers campuswide.

The 5k and 1-mile activities start at 7:30 a.m. at Union Station, followed by a survivor recognition and parade at 9:15 a.m.

To join, register by July 26 at komenkansascity.org. Registration starts at $20 online. Indicate you're registering on a team and select "The University of Kansas Cancer Center." You'll receive a team shirt and Susan G. Komen shirt.
