2015 Workshop on Mass spectrometry-based proteomics

The next workshop will focus on sample preparation, data analysis and reporting. We will review practical methods for protein identification and quantization. Including in gel  and in solution digestion and  analysis by 2 dimensional HPLC methodologies

Previous Workshops:

2014: Mass spectrometry-based proteomics: Applications in the Medical Sciences June 19
Dr. A. Artigues, the Director of the Core lab, in collaboration with Dr.  M. Villar organized the workshop which provided an overview of the methodology and actual developments in proteomics. The main objective of the workshop was to provide a theoretical and practical introduction to tandem mass spectrometry proteomics, including the key experimental methods and computational tools needed to pursue a variety of analysis of proteomic samples, ranging from structural proteomics, protein dynamics, analysis of post translational modifications, and analysis and quantification of complex samples.
Dr. O Nadeau reviewed the methods for analysis of protein-protein interaction using bifunctional cross-linkers, including chemistries available, data analysis and bioinformatics; M.A. Rimmer, a PhD student at the Department of Biochemistry (Dr. G. Carson advisor), provided an overview of the applications of HDX MS for protein dynamics; Dr. C. Slawson reviewed the different methodologies for protein quantitation and Dr. S Weinman provided a summary of his studies on the regulation of POXO3 by post-translational modifications.
All speakers provided practical examples of their own research.
