Neuronal reorganization after cortical infarct in rats

eurban@kumc.edu

I have lived in Kansas all my life (except for a 4 year stint in Texas) and lived 5 blocks from KUMC for the first 8 years of my life. I guess you could say I was drawn to this University by subliminal ties.

I have two undergraduate degrees: BFA with an emphasis in oil painting and BS in Biochemistry. For my PhD research, I currently work in Dr. Nudo's lab on the rat model of stroke. There are some really interesting changes in neurons after cortical infarct, and my project is to discover the pertinent molecular differentiation taking place during those changes.

As you can see, I also have a very significant role in our MD/PhD Student Council's social activities!!
