Chris Tanzie, M.D., Ph.D.

2013 Graduate
Anatomy & Cell Biology

Research Focus

Eye development and retinal stem cells

I finished high school in Derby, KS, class of 2000. After high school I was eager to be out on my own and enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. After four years of schooling and two years in the Republic of Albania serving an ecclesiastical mission, I graduated in 2006 with a BS in Neuroscience and a minor in Music.

While I was at KUMC I' was excited to study medicine and perform basic science research. My research interests are in the neurosciences. During undergrad my research experiences included human EEG tests, behavioral addiction studies using a rat model, and a clinical research internship at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City helping test a possible future ophthalmic diagnostic tool.

Outside of school I love spending time with my wife, playing basketball and music, and just about whatever else comes up. If you have any questions, shoot me an email and I'll be happy to answer them. ctanzie@kumc.edu
