Jake New, Ph.D.
Anatomy & Cell Biology
I've grown up in the Kansas City metro area, and received my BS in Food Science at Kansas State University. At K-State, I had a variety of research experiences in the fields of Agriculture, with a grass-finished beef project, and in community health, with an Afghani Development Non-Government Organization.
Here at KUMC, I have rotated through a few labs, and am the process of selecting my research mentor. I've rotated with Dr. Adam Krieg, studying the influence of Hypoxia on the cancer cell microenvironment; Dr. Randy Nudo, studying cortical stimulation in treatment of stroke; and Dr. Peter Smith, studying induced pluripotent stem cells in treatment for spinal cord injury. There is fascinating research occurring here at KUMC!
