Neuronal reorganization after cortical infarct in rats

My PhD work was in the rat model of ischemic stroke in Dr Randolph Nudo's lab.  The adult brain is capable of reorganization after certain kinds of injury.  This plasticity may be useful someday in treating human stroke survivors, so working out basic mechanisms in animal models is very important.

I have lived most of my life in Kansas City.  My BFA (oil painting emphasis) is from TCU, and my BS Biochemistry is from KU.
