Postdoctoral Research Position – Weinman Lab
Mechanisms of Hepatitis C Liver Disease

An NIH funded postdoctoral position is available in the Liver Center at the University of Kansas School of Medicine to study the role of viral-mitochondrial interactions in the pathogenesis of Hepatitis C. Previous work in our laboratory has defined novel functional interactions between HCV and mitochondria. Ongoing studies will use newly developed mouse and cell culture models to examine the role of mitochondrial protein oxidation and mitochondrial methylation reactions in liver injury. The studies require someone with a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Experience in virology, proteomics, molecular biology or quantitative microscopy is desirable.
