Professional Background
Dr. Swagerty is a Board Certified Physician in Geriatric Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Family Medicine. His practice focuses on care of the frail older adult, particularly those in long term care settings. He directs the Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care programs in the Department of Family Medicine. He also directs the medical education programs at the Landon Center on Aging, including serving as the Geriatric Medicine clerkship director and the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship director. Dr. Swagerty is the Primary Investigator for Kansas Reynolds Program in Aging, a $ 2 M funded program focused on developing interprofessional education and clinical care programs for older adults.
