Our theme this year is "Lifestyle and the Aging Brain". Our focus is on how exercise, diet and other proactive lifestyle decisions can influence brain aging and dementia. Most of the seminars in this series are held on Thursday afternoons-typically the 2nd and last Thursday of the month-from 12:00-1:00 pm Central time. All programs originate on the campus of the University of Kansas Medical Center, Landon Center on Aging, Room 270, and will be broadcast by ITV and Adobe Connect web-based conferencing. Please note we will not be providing handouts for this series.

Interactive Televideo (ITV) Sites:
Participating by ITV will allow you to see and hear the speaker, see the speaker's PowerPoint presentation, and see and interact with participants at other sites. This seminar will be broadcast by ITV to the sites listed below. We will broadcast to other sites upon request by the host site. Please contact us for additional information.

Adobe Connect is being offered for those who do not have access to an ITV site. Adobe Connect is a web-based conferencing system. You will be able to see the PowerPoint slides (if any) and see and hear the presenter. You will also be able to interact through text chat. To know more about Adobe Connect and see if it fits with you, see the Adobe Connect website.
There is no charge for attending. However, everyone planning to attend by ITV or Adobe Connect must pre-register so that we can coordinate attendance with sites, make sure that all involved ITV sites will be connected, and send out Adobe Connect information as needed. It is optional for those planning to attend on site at KUMC to pre-register, however, doing so will save you time from filling out on-site registration paperwork.
This series is offered in collaboration with the University of Kansas Area Health Education Centers (AHEC). Transcripts for programs will be mailed on a quarterly basis. If you need your transcript earlier, please call the AHEC office at (620) 235-4040.
All participants are required to sign verification of attendance forms at the beginning of the program. A certificate of completion will be provided to all activity participants based on documentation of actual attendance time.
