There is little knowledge about the incidence, prevalence, and ongoing effects of military combat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) across the general public and even among health care professionals as it surfaces in geriatric populations. This program will inform and educate participants on military/combat PTSD and the effects that it has on veterans as they progress into the geriatric age group. The program will raise awareness on how to recognize combat PTSD in this population and how to address this with the individual older veteran with regards to diagnosis and treatment.
