Description:
Hearing is one of the senses that enhances communication and assists the older adult to perceive "place". Perceptual changes due to hearing impairment impact interpersonal interactions, and social and behavioral functions. The speaker will discuss ways in which this may occur, ways to assess the relationship of hearing loss to lack of adherence to interventions and behavior changes, and identify resources for management.
