OIO utilizes a systems approach that includes sharing of stimulating innovation, sharing of best practices, optimizing resources, and development of new capabilities. In all that we do, we are guided by a simple approach which focuses on realization of our commitment for everyone at KUMC to:

Our services are offered to teams and departments, as well as the organization as a whole. We can provide support as a catalyst, provide resources, and/or advise on organizational improvement infrastructure on a variety of initiatives such as:

Through a systematic self-assessment, priority areas and near term actions have been identified for OIO:

Strategic Planning

1. Development of a sustainable process for strategic planning. OIO will support the EVC Leadership Team. 

2. Development of a process for action plans and alignment of resources to ensure success of current strategic goals. OIO will support the EVC Leadership Team and the action plan sponsors.

3. Development of relevant, multi-dimensional organizational performance metrics to support accountability for and achievement of our goals.

Workforce Engagement

1. Support Human Resources in expansion of the training and development initiatives launched in Support Services and make these available campus-wide. This includes Leading the Jayhawk Way and Jayhawk Way Success Academy.

2. Support Human Resources in development of a system approach to performance management, which is consistent with vision alignment, continuous improvement, and recognition/reward.

3. Support Human Resources in development/implementation of a process to determine the training needs of the organization based on present capacity and anticipated future needs.
