Organizational Improvement Office

Welcome to the Organizational Improvement Office (OIO) and to the home of KUMC's Baldrige quality improvement program.
We are dedicated to quality and performance improvement within the Support Services and Student Services. We are focused on helping provide leadership to shape the future of health care by assisting with the implementation of Goals E, F,G, H and I of the KUMC Strategic Plan. We are committed to helping make KUMC a great place to be.
- Increasing organizational adaptability and resilience (Goal E)
- Securing and optimizing resources aligned with strategic priorities ( Goal F)
- Increase diversity, cultural competence and professionalism across KUMC (Goal G)
- Strengthening communication, collaboration and synergy internally and externally (Goal H)
- Create and implement a multi-level dashboard that demonstrates quality, value and economic benefit to the state and region (Goal I)
OIO uses a proven systems approach that includes foci on work systems, measurable and improving results, use of best practices, and cycles of learning and improvement. The approach is the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program from the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the Department of Commerce. Its approach is composed of the following areas:
