The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and Graduate Studies is pleased to introduce ASCEND. Understanding that the traditional one-track model of career planning no longer serves the success or potential of our graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, ASCEND draws inspiration from the NIH Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST) program to provide strategic training, resources, and the opportunity to explore and experience career options. This new program will expand the training and resources available to all scholars at KUMC with enhanced career development workshops, a student leadership component, and increased resources and information. In addition, a cohort of graduate students will have the opportunity to complete an Experiential Learning Placement in their field of interest.

Michael Werle, PhD, Dean of Postdoctoral Affairs and Graduate Studies
