KUMC Faculty Affairs & Interprofessional Development

Welcome to the KUMC Office of Faculty Affairs! Our office is dedicated to providing all faculty the timely, important and helpful support necessary to assure their success on the KUMC campus. Our office provides services across all three schools (Health Professions, Medicine and Nursing) to all faculty members at the Kansas City, Wichita and Salina campuses.

Our office offers many services to faculty, including support for faculty appointments (paid, volunteer, joint/secondary, emeritus and distinguished professor). We manage, process and house faculty paperwork and records, including appointment documents, faculty rosters, faculty verifications, phased retirement requests, sabbatical requests, title changes, etc. We also assist with the promotion and tenure process, including streamlining results to the necessary departments and housing the final promotion and tenure list. We coordinate several faculty awards, including the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award, the Chancellor's Club Teaching Professorship and the Glendon G. Cox Leadership Award. Additionally, we support the KUMC Faculty Assembly, the faculty governing body representing each of the three schools.

We also provide KUMC faculty with opportunities for interprofessional faculty development. We coordinate the initial step in the process of onboarding new KUMC faculty members and provide links to the second step (managed by each school). Our office manages two leadership training programs -- the Faculty Leadership Assembly (new FLA coming in 2017) and the Campus-Wide Leadership Series. Further, we provide and maintain and comprehensive directory of all inter-professional development activities and programs on the KUMC campus.

Please take a few minutes to review our site and do not hesitate to let us know how we can assist you!
