ASCEND Workshop Series
The ASCEND workshop series will be open to all graduate students and trainees that wish to participate. Attendance at all or most of the workshops is encouraged for those applying to the Experiential Learning Placement.  Please see the events calendar on the main ASCEND page for dates, time, location and to sign up.  AdobeConnect will be available at most workshops for those attending from a distance.  

Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS) - March 2017
The Capitol Graduate Research Summit is an annual showcase of research conducted by graduate students from the University of Kansas Medical Center, University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas State University, and Wichita State University. Participating students present their research to state legislators, the Kansas Board of Regents, university administrators, and to the general public. Judges will select the top two presenters from each of the four institutions and award them each with a scholarship. More information can be found on the Capitol Graduate Research Summit website

Doctoral Hooding Ceremony - May 2017
All August, December and May doctoral degree candidates are eligible to participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony on Saturday, May 13, 2017. More information can be found on the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony webpage including registration information.

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) Workshop - once each Fall and Spring semester
Each Fall and Spring semester, the Office of Graduate Studies in Lawrence offers an ETD workshop that is broadcast live to the KUMC and Wichita campus. Check calendar below for date of the next scheduled workshop.  If you are unable to attend the upcoming workshop, you may access a recording of the Fall 2015 workshop on the ETD webpage.  The workshop is designed for graduate students at any stage of the thesis (master's students) or dissertation (PhD) process. Various aspects of formatting and copyright are covered.

Graduate Student Council (GSC) - September - May
The Graduate Student Council is an environment where current graduate students from all disciplines can come together to discuss policies and fund student groups to make KUMC a better place for all students. GSC meets on the first Wednesday of each month from September to May. For more information, please visit the Graduate Student Council website.

Student Research Forum (SRF) - April 2017
The Student Research Forum is a three day event in which  students from all disciplines gather to present their research and compete against one another for different awards. Students are welcome to participate in poster sessions, abstract presentations, and to attend the A.L. Chapman keynote research lecture. Award winners are announced at the awards banquet.
