Partnering Program Guidelines

Purpose

The purpose of the K-INBRE Partnering Program is to support travel and minor research related expenses for training, technology transfer, and collaboration among the Outreach Institutions (Haskell Indian Nations University, Washburn University, Fort Hays State University, Emporia State University, Pittsburg State University and Langston University) and Scientific Partner Hosts (KU Medical Center, KU Lawrence, Kansas State University, and Wichita State University) in specific areas of Cell and Developmental Biology.

Eligibility

Faculty and students on the 10 K-INBRE campuses working in all areas of Cell and Developmental Biology are eligible to compete for these funds.

Criteria

All areas of Cell and Developmental Biology will be considered, provided that the research project meets the requirements of being innovative, short in scope and designed to accomplish specific objectives during the visit to the Host Institution. The application should be prepared by the joint efforts of the visitor and host. A description of the specific activities and justification for the length of stay should also be provided. The funding is designed to foster and enhance the development of research activity in specific areas in which there is a critical need. These areas are:

  1. Reproduction and embryonic development
  2. Organogenesis
  3. Developmental neuroscience
  4. Cellular and developmental pathologies

Funding

Monetary support is provided for travel expenses of the visitor (up to $500 per week) and a supply budget is provided for the Host ($250 per week). A maximum of one month will be supported during any one year.
