Change or Extension of Program
Internationals wanting to change their major or move from one degree level to another must follow the original admission procedures. Forms I-20 and DS2019 are only issued for the standard duration of a particular program, as established by the administering department.
Should additional time be required to complete a program, a Request for Extension form may be filed. This request must be completed at least one month prior to the expiration date on the current I-20 or DS2019. Only students who have continually maintained status may be eligible for an extension of time. Students who are out of status cannot be granted an extension.
