If a sponsoring department finds it desirable to continue the sponsorship of a current exchange visitor, the department submits a complete Request of DS2019 for extension. The visitor must submit a completed Section 212(e) Certification. This form may be submitted along with the department's request form or directly to the Office of International Programs. Additionally, the visitor must have maintained current insurance and have otherwise complied with the requirements of exchange visitor status.
