International Student Orientation
Open to all new and returning international KUMC students, orientation for Fall 2012 will be held August 9th - 10th. The orientation will provide essential information to student to assist in their adjustment to life on the KUMC campus and will include a campus tour.
City Market Trip
The City Market is an open-air market where farmers and growers bring fresh produce to sell. Surrounding the market you can find ethnic stores, spice stores, ethnic and American restaurants, and other interesting stores and boutiques. We plan on going to the City Market on xxxx (TBA). Please join us then!
International Student Reception
The Office of International Programs will welcome the arrival of our new international students. Information on internationally focused student organizations and activities will be available. The international community on KUMC campus is invited to attend to show their support for our incoming students. Join us in August.

Income Tax Workshop - Filing for Internationals
There will be three tax workshops for internationals offered in spring 2013. At the workshops, you will be preparing your tax return using CINTAX tax preparation software with the assistance of KU Legal Services for Students (LSS) staff. LSS staff will be available to answer questions and guide you through both the CINTAX program and the Kansas WebFile system.

Most people can finish within an hour. If you have questions about tax documents, requirements, how to file your taxes or anything tax related, please attend one of these workshops. The KUMC Office of International Programs cannot offer tax advice.
You need to bring the following with you to the workshop:
•KUMC ID badge
•Entry I-94, DS2019 or I-20
•Social security card or ITIN card for self and dependents
•W-2, 1042-S and/or 1099 issued form KUMC Payroll or other employers
Also, remember to have funds available in a Go Print account, so that you can print from the computers in the workshop..
For those wanting to complete taxes on-line without assistance, contact Denise Johnson at djohnson5@kumc.edu for instructions on how to obtain a password to the tax software. A list of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites is also available for those unable to attend either workshop. These sites are designed to provide assistance with filing federal and state tax forms for little to no cost.
