Income Tax Workshop - Filing for Internationals

There will be three tax workshops for internationals offered in spring 2010. At the workshops, you will be preparing your tax return using CINTAX tax preparation software with the assistance of KU Legal Services for Students (LSS) staff. LSS staff will be available to answer questions and guide you through both the CINTAX program and the Kansas WebFile system.

Workshop dates: TBA

Place: TBA

Most people can finish within an hour. If you have questions about tax documents, requirements, how to file your taxes or anything tax related, please attend one of these workshops. The KUMC Office of International Programs cannot offer tax advice.

You need to bring the following with you to the workshop:
•KUMC ID badge
•Entry I-94, DS2019 or I-20
•Social security card or ITIN card for self and dependents
•W-2, 1042-S and/or 1099 issued form KUMC Payroll or other employers

Also, remember to have funds available in a Go Print account, so that you can print from the computers in the workshop..

For those wanting to complete taxes on-line without assistance, contact Denise Johnson at djohnson5@kumc.edu for instructions on how to obtain a password to the tax software. A list of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites is also available for those unable to attend either workshop. These sites are designed to provide assistance with filing federal and state tax forms for little to no cost.

For questions, please contact Julia Shaw in the Office of International Programs.
