Note: H-1B PETITION REQUESTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED 6 MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF THE HIRE DATE OR CURRENT H-1B END DATE.  REQUESTS MADE UNDER 6 MONTHS, MAY REQUIRE A FEE TO EXPEDITE.  DUE TO THE NATURE OF AN H-1B PETITION, IT TAKES TIME TO PREPARE EACH PETITION AND FOR IT TO BE ADJUDICATED BY THE USCIS.

To initiate the H-1B request process, please submit the following items to the Office of International Programs:

CONRAD 30 WAIVER REQUESTS:

Any inquiries or questions regarding the State of Kansas Conrad 30 J-1 Waiver Program can be forwarded to both Kimberly Connelly and Irina Aris.  Please note physicians who are interested in the Conrad 30 Program will first need to obtain approval from their hiring department and from the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Robert Klein.

For more information about the Conrad 30 Program, please visit the State of Kansas Department of Health and Environment's website.

PERMANENT RESIDENT OR O-1 VISA
REQUESTS:
In order for KUMC to sponsor and petition for Legal Permanent Residence (LPR) status or an O-1 (Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement) Visa on behalf of an employee, approval must first be obtained from the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Robert Klein.  To request authorization for either LPR status or O-1 visa, the hiring or sponsoring department should complete and submit the following form with any related supporting documents to the Office of International Programs.

KUMC has a business relationship with BORDEAU IMMIGRATION LAW, LLC. Since we need to work closely with the lawyer submitting the permanent resident petition for any concurrent H-1B extensions, we highly recommend working with Bordeau Immigration Law's Managing Attorney, Judy Bordeau for your immigration needs. Please contact Judy Bordeau by email at judy@kcvisa.com. Be sure to include 'KUMC PR PETITION FOR (YOUR NAME)" in the subject line. You may also contact her staff at 913-432-9994.
