Application Process:
The Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics participate in the National
Resident Matching Program (NRMP). For information regarding NRMP,

The Departments participate in the Electronic Residency Application
Service (ERAS) through the Association of American Medical Colleges
(AAMC). ERAS is a service that transmits residency applications,
letters of recommendation, Dean's letters, transcripts, and other
supporting credentials from medical schools to residency programs.
Using the ERAS Student Workstation Software, applicants complete
a application and select residency programs to receive the application.

Please make sure you abide by all listed deadlines in your ERAS
application.

General Timeline
The MyERAS Web site opens to applicants on July 15 of each year.
You have a full month to work on your application before you
can submit it and transmit it to programs.
Programs start receiving applications on September 1, 2005.
Dean's Letters are released on November 1 of each year.
Interviews take place anytime from November through the beginning
of February.
The Match process, including entering Rank Order Lists and the
publication of Match results, takes place from January through
March each year.
The ERAS system closes on May 30th each year.
Applicants need to include the following:
- Letter of recommendation from the Dean of the applicant's medical
school.
- Four additional letters of recommendation, one of which should
be from the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and one from
the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics of the applicant's
medical school.
Deadlines:
- The deadline for your completed ERAS application and letters
of recommendation is December 23, 2005
- The deadline for completed files and interviews for internship
is February 10, 2006
Interviews are required for acceptance into the program. Interviews
are arranged by invitation and are conducted on Tuesdays from
November
to late January. Plan to spend a full day with us beginning at
7:30 am.
