Basic Histopathology

Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology

This section is a preview to what you will study further in other classes. Students in the CTB course are not responsible for any of the information presented in this section. It will NOT be on any histology exam. It is presented here simply to give an idea of some the pathological processes that occur and the importance of histology. Students early in their medical training may appreciate having some idea of what happens when things go wrong. This section will also serve as a review of the normal microscopic anatomy. Enjoy.

Do understand, however, that pathology is based as much on the gross anatomy as it is on the histology. Nonetheless, this section is concerned with only the histopathology.

The button in each section will connect you to Dr. Fishback's Pathology website.
