Information Resources offers an extensive program of classes, Lunch and Learns, Power Hours, and Web-based learning to help faculty and staff of KUMC gain confidence and skill in using information technology resources. The IR training staff is joined by other KUMC staff as content experts to teach a wide range of classes on currently used computer applications, information literacy, library database resources and instructional strategies. Trainers/presenters introduce you to the information technology using clear, straightforward language connecting the new skills to your work environment.
Classes may include demonstrations and/or hands-on sessions that run from one to four hours. Classes on new topics and technologies are added throughout the year based on need. Most classes are appropriate regardless of what kind of computer or operating system (e.g., Windows or Mac OS) you use, but a few classes will be focused on a specific operating system or technology device. Classes that require prerequisites or equivalent experience will be noted. All IR Training events require registration.
