Blocked Files

New computer viruses are being released at an exceptional rate, and most are in infected .zip or other executable file attachments. In response to these threats, attachments with the following extensions are blocked at KUMC’s email gateway:


If you must receive an executable file, such as a .zip file, from a sender outside KUMC, ask the sender to rename the file extension from .zip to .kumc before attaching it to email. When the email arrives, save the attached file with a .zip extension and open it normally. Please contact your help desk if you have any questions about receiving .zip files through KUMC email.
