Apple Products

This group aims to support KUMC faculty and staff that are current or future Apple device users (iPhone, iPad and computer users). Communication will focus on system updates for these devices, best practices concerning KUMC systems/apps, iOS app reviews from faculty and staff, and presentations from faculty and staff on using these devices and apps to support departmental visions and missions. Lunch and learns will occur monthly, information and other communication will be sent out by listserv.

Content Management System (CMS)

The Content Management System group is focused on helping educate and support all KUMC users who need to edit KUMC websites. The meetings consist of an initial training session where users are introduced to the base concepts and methodologies associated with the CMS.  Once the initial training has been completed, users are then invited to attend bi-weekly CMS Lab sessions.  In these sessions, users bring issues that they may be having with the CMS and we work together to solve them.  By doing it in this way, not only do the users get a problem solved, but they also gain the knowlege of how to fix it if it returns.

The group currently consists of individuals across the institution that have been identified as QlikView developers and/or super-users (or super-consumers). Currently, we anticipate the monthly meeting of the group will serve multiple purposes:

  1. Keeping everyone on the team informed of the current development efforts going on across the institution to ensure we maintain consistency in methodologies and avoid duplication of efforts.
  2. Identification of current gaps in QlikView reporting/analyses and determination of appropriate area for development of solution (i.e. centralized vs. local).
  3. On-going training and development of QlikView skills across the group.

SharePoint Users Group

This group consists of those users wanting to get more out of SharePoint by sharing experience and knowledge through presentations and lab time. We will discuss best practices, uses for SharePoint lists and libraries, workflows, forms, office integration and more. Visit the SharePoint User Group on Yammer for more information and schedules.

Social Media

This group includes everyone who admins for the various social media accounts on the KU Medical Center campus, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Flickr. (See a list of our social media accounts here.) Meetings consist of occasional brown-bag lunches with discussion about best practices for social media and sharing successful strategies. Users also stay in contact through a listserv, discussing the latest news and updates about social media as it relates to health education. Join the listserv here:
