New audio conferencing system coming late May 2016

bridge conference callsNew audio conferencing system coming in May 2016 for university and health system employees (hospital and former UKP employees). University Telecommunications and Networking will be deploying the new Acano audio conferencing system in May 2016 to replace the current conference bridge. The new Acano system will be available to all campus employees and have 10 times the capacity of the current audio conferencing system. The new system features include an easy-to-use website for scheduling and administering your audio conference calls. Users will be able to see who is logged on to their calls and mute/unmute or disconnect callers if necessary. Acano allows for more secure conference calling with the ability to schedule the calls using unique login IDs and passwords. Demonstrations on the new system will be available at the following dates:

•  May 18th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Westwood Multipurpose Room

•  May 19th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in 1050 School of Nursing

•  May 24th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Broadmoor 5th Floor Breakroom

•  May 25th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the CRC Fairway Auditorium (Room 1106)

The current system is a Bridge Conference Call

After July 1, 2016 you will no longer be able to schedule a new meeting in the existing bridge system.  

Calls already scheduled in the existing system will be available until December 31, 2016.

A bridge conference call is for four or more callers who want to conference together by telephone to conduct a meeting.

Please be aware that bridge line conference calls are not secured lines. If you need to converse about personal information please request an Intercall audio conferencing services calling card via Telecommunications at 913-588-4990.
