Data Backup and Recovery

Individual desktop and laptop computers are not backed up.Individuals are encouraged to routinely save documents to their network file share (like the 'G: drive').

Servers managed by Information Resources are backed up nightly. Copies of monthly backups are stored in a separate building from the data center and are possible to restore data from, although for emergency needs only.

Database data backups depend on the application and database platform. Contact IR to dicuss your unique needs.

SharePoint sites are backed up nightly for disaster recovery purposes. Individual sites have recycle bins that store deleted documents for seven days. Open a ticket with Customer Support to retrieve documents further back than seven days.
